In 1999, American Machine & Conveyor (AMC) designed and built a 60-foot tall steel tower with a 40-foot platform on top. The tower was erected by theAMC sister company, Craftsmen Construction, on San Nicholas Island. It is used today as the remote control tower for one of the U. S. Navy's test ships. The most unusual part of the project is that it had to be translated from concept to engineered platform in place over a period of 90-days. It was completed on time and the quality was rated "best in class".
This is just one of thousands of unusual projects designed and fabricated by the AMC staff. From the mechanical works of one of the few operating windmills in the United States for the rock star Prince to an emergency aluminum escape structure still in use in the Antarctic.
A commitment to excellence has contributed to our impressive growth, from small to major manufacturing assignments. From stainless steel shark cages to complicated carbon steel structures such as the entry and clock tower at Ventura's Pacific View Mall, American Machine & Conveyor continues to move ahead into the future providing state-of-the-art technology to benefit our customers. At AMC, we are always on the brink of exploration and discovery.
